Eating or swallowing

It is clear: if one does not cook, another will eat what he has prepared. Although what the phrase says is evident, it may not be so evident all that it implies. In fact, according to Canadian researchers Jaffe and Gertier, in recent times the habit and know-how in the kitchen has been lost, a loss that has not necessarily occurred: it is part of a strategy promoted by the food industry.

In fact, these researchers have analyzed the causes and consequences of the McDonrevista and concluded that consumers have not developed without further the tendency to choose fast, precooked, cheap and easy foods. The food industry, in collaboration with the agents involved, has carried out a disinformation campaign to modify the criteria and tastes of consumers, making us dependent on the products they produce.

This means, to a certain extent, that one is not the owner. Thus, an increasing part of society devours the products produced without taking into account anything but the maximum economic benefit for the industry. Without asking yourself (or yes, but not too much) how they have managed to sell this dish so cheap that it gives no more work to go out and eat.

Therefore, among other things, believes the sociologist of the UPV, Mauleón, that knowing in the kitchen is key to a healthy and sustainable diet with the environment. In addition, the magazine's central pages contain other keys that contribute to this same objective within the framework of World Environment Day.

The motto prepared by the United Nations for this day is: Think. Feed. Save. Despite three simple words, they form a jacket with many tips of thread, the report has been completed by pulling some of them.
