Japanese researchers have proposed desserts as a source of stem cell acquisition at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. In fact, researchers have extracted a type of stem cells from desserts and managed to reprogram them into embryonic stem cells.
The latter are a good source of this type of cell, as they are normally removed from people and easy to conserve, as Japanese researchers have shown; in their experiments, for example, desserts from a ten-year-old girl have been used, after three years in the refrigerator.
