Challenge: From a very young age, Maitane began to seek an alternative to current conservation methods in order to extend the shelf life of food without having to use chemicals that could harm health. Thus, their challenge has been to seek a cheaper, sustainable and healthy method. He has received several international awards for this work.
Notes for teachers: Attending science fairs with their project influences students in many ways: they gain confidence, meet young people of the same interest, train in communication and, rounded up, help them to be better researchers.
