There is no evidence that organically produced foods are more nutritious than those produced from pesticides and mineral fertilizers, according to a group of researchers from Copenhagen in the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture.
In order to find out if the ecological influence or not, an experiment was conducted. Carrot plants, peas, apples and potatoes grew in three plots and conditions: one of them did not use any pesticide and fertilized the soil with manure, another used pesticides and fertilized with manure and the third used pesticides and mineral fertilizers. The aforementioned plots were contiguous, so their characteristics were similar and were in the same weather conditions. The harvest was also collected at the same time.
After the analysis of the collection, it was observed that in the foods obtained by the three pathways, the ingredients that feed them were in similar quantities. In addition, this collection fed different animals for two years and evaluated whether the way food is raised affects their retention capacity. And they saw that there were no significant differences.
