Cow's milk and cancer

The introduction of cow's milk into the diet can be very beneficial for the prevention of certain cancers.

Cow-milk acid CLA is very effective in fighting cancer.

Cow's milk contains at least one acid called CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid). This fatty acid forms in bacteria in the belly of cows. Experiments have revealed that CLA is facing melanoma and leukemia, as well as preventing breast, colon, ovaries and prostate cancers.

A group of New York researchers, aware of this discovery, want to change the diet of cows to increase the amount of CLA acids in milk. According to one study, a man of 70 kilos needs between 3 and 5 grams daily of CLA acid. On the contrary, the average diet of the US population is reduced to a gram. According to the researchers, this beneficial fatty acid is found especially in whole milk; skimmed milk does not contain acidic and semi-skimmed CLA only contains 60% of CLA acids.
