The center of a rotating whirlwind is usually circular, but in nature other geometric shapes have been observed such as atmospheric whirlpools, the eye of a hurricane or the whirlwind of some Saturn clouds.
Well, these other geometric structures have been seen in a laboratory at the Technical University of Denmark. To make the swirl, cylindrical containers full of water have turned and have seen that, as the speed accelerates, the image that draws the water in the background passes from one structure to another: a first three-pointed star appeared, then a square, then a pentagon, and at a very fast speed the hexagon.
