Fossil forest in the north pole

The fossil forest discovered in the reign of the Canadians of Axel Heiberge is 45 million years old. This forest, located 1100 km from the North Pole, is the most beautiful fossil forest in the world.

The forest is not petrified and the discoverers have managed to cut the wood and light the fire. However, the forest is very well preserved. The forest has a square kilometer in which, apart from species as well known as the spruce and the sequoia, there are already disappeared tree species.

Some of the trees are still standing and others are on the ground. Leaf clusters have also been found.
