Arctic Research

A research programme on how the Arctic affects the world climate is being developed. In addition, the program will value resources that may be under ice.

According to physicist Joan Roederer of Fairbanks University in Alaska, the region surrounding the north pole can be defined as an ocean surrounded by land and is a huge biogeochemical machine. Its glaciers and icebergs exert a decisive influence on sea level and Arctic permafrost contains 200 billion tons of coal (which acts as a trap for oxides and carbon methane (IV)).

As is known, both gases play an undeniable role in Earth's climate due to the greenhouse effect.

According to Roederer, the Arqutico also works as a giant funnel and absorbs the results of the typical activity of the Sun towards the atmosphere.

Currently several universities in the US and the archaic federal agency are preparing a comprehensive and in-depth program of analysis. This program is also intended to extend to other countries with interests in the Arctic and initiate international research planning. Within the United Nations Global International Biosphere Programme, the international Arctic analysis programme would be framed.
