John Emsley is a chemist and outreach writer who skillfully combines both characters. In his presentation on his website makes clear from the beginning: "I'm an author. I'm a chemist" (I am a writer. I am a chemist.") And he has already published 15 combined books. He has had very good reviews, partly thanks to the style of writing, and partly because he has started writing texts on nearby chemistry since the beginning of the tour. Another featured book by John Emsley is Vanity, Vitality, and Virility. It is a book on chemistry of products that are purchased at ease. In relation to the title, it tells the story of the lipstick ( Vanity), analyzes the fats used in the food industry ( Vitality) and explains the story of Viagra ( Virility). In addition to all this, it talks about many other substances we buy: disinfectants, antidepressants, gum and "hidden" polymers with edible erotic underwear, asphalts and many other products.
