Shipping Oil: Troubling Giants

Two months ago, the accident of the oil tanker Eagean Sea on the coast of La Coruña has once again brought to light the disturbing images we already saw on different coasts of the world: the sea on fire, the blackened beaches and the oil-soaked birds. A month later, at the beginning of the year, in the Shetland Islands, it was the turn of the oil tanker Braer. Certainly they will not be the last: oil consumption is essential for maritime transport, so it will be necessary to have all the aid that new technologies can provide to minimize the risk of accidents. 400
