The Marquis de Adán de Yarza gave us the heritage: planting pines and bird communities of the Basque Country

Mario Adán de Yarza Marqués did not like what he heard that morning of 1877: From Madrid the dissolution of the Diputación was ordered. These were the consequences of the last Carlist war and the young lawyer and politician born in Bilbao 31 years before was left without work from day to day. However, he does not seem to worry too much and, aside from books, laws and official writings, he saw the opportunity to do what he liked most. From that day, he devoted himself totally to agriculture and forestry, knowing different places in Europe and America, and analyzing the agricultural techniques and forest replantations used in each country. 400
