The age of cells also depends on carbon

According to some researchers at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, the carbon 14 method also allows to know the age of a cell.

This method of dating is mainly used in archaeology and paleontology, since it is very useful to date ancient objects. But less ancient substances are also dated. To do this, we take into account the fluctuations of carbon 14 in the atmosphere: nuclear tests doubled for 1963 and has since been halved every eleven years.

Knowing this, it is possible to know the origin of a cell's DNA molecule, since carbon atoms remain in DNA. Well, measuring the amount of carbon 14 in the DNA, they have seen that the oldest cells in the body are in the brain and, for example, those in the visual area are not renewed life.
