A NASA probe enters the sun's crown for the first time.

NASA achieved the goal it dreamed of 60 years ago in 2021: The probe launched in 2018 Parker Solar Probe has penetrated for the first time in the crown of the Sun. I mean, it's entered the outside atmosphere.

“The probe has touched the Sun,” says NASA scientist Thomas Zurbuch. The probe, ever closer to the Sun, realized in April of its introduction to the crown. They say it was five hours in the choir. During this time he has taken samples to study the particles of the Sun and the magnetic field. Published this week in the journal Physical Review Letters.

NASA hopes that the information obtained will serve to better understand the influence of the star on our solar system. Among other things, the sun coming out of the star and the energetic particles projected in the Eguzki system.

Incredible temperatures

The sun's crown is much hotter than the star's own surface. The Crown has a temperature of 1,000,000°K at the hottest point and the cortex only 6,000°K. Anyway, the surface of the star is not solid, like the surface of the Earth. According to NASA researchers, in 2024 the Parker probe may be closer to the solar surface than Mercury itself. However, inside the probe the temperature will not rise and the instruments will be able to function normally, all on the right track.
