Human beings in northern China for more than a million years

Homo erectus arrived north of China 1,35 million years ago. This has been demonstrated by the stone work tools they have found in the Xiaohangliang area of the Nihewan basin. It is the oldest human remains found in Northeast Asia and shows that the hominid was able to adapt to very harsh weather conditions.

Although simple sylex and volcanic stone instruments have been found, these hominids of tropical origin show a relatively high degree of development. In fact, Chinese and American researchers who have participated in the discovery claim that they adapted to a change in behavior rather than physiological changes.
