Additives in the measure

In the food industry, additives are used to obtain healthier, stable, cheap and varied foods. In plant preserves, for example, there are two methods of dosage of these additives: government liquids or pills. The dosage with government liquids is cheaper and is therefore used more, but the one that is made with pills is cleaner and more accurate. However, there is no automatic pill dosing system and manual dosing is very slow for the industry.

For this reason, the Public University of Navarra has developed an automatic dosing system in collaboration with other universities and companies. This dosing system has many advantages: in terms of the quality and safety of the product, the dosage is more accurate and the damage produced by the acidic components containing the cover liquids is avoided. As a result, safer foods are obtained and maintenance costs of the facilities are significantly reduced.
