After the genetic marker of schizophrenia

Schizophrenia is not easy to treat. However, detection in the early stages and correct treatment can slow the degenerative process of the disease.

A group of Israeli researchers has published that the genetic marker D3 (dopamine receptor) can be used as a sign of schizophrenia. If this were so, a blood test would be enough to diagnose schizophrenia.

In fact, they have found that among schizophrenics the level of D3 is higher. The result of this study can be very important, especially considering that a percentage of the world population is affected by this disease.
