These awards are awarded by the City of Andoain and were the first words of the mayor Ana Karrere Zabala, after watching the video of a fragment of a conference of Rikardo Arregi himself. Karrere recognized the maturity of Basque journalism and thanked the path taken: “This is not born from scratch in recent years. It is based on the work of many years and many people. Because it is true that “Izan zirelako gara!” he said.
The first prize went to Anaitasuna magazine. Begoña Arregi Aramburu, excited, delivered it to Angel Zelaieta Gisasola. The jury consisted of: Look at Azkarate Villar, Jose Inazio Basterretxea Polo, Allande <unk>, Aingeru Epaltza Ruiz de Alda, Elixabete Larrinaga Artetxe, Jon Unanue Lopez, Arantxa Urretabizkaia Bejerano and Aitor Zuberogoitia Espilla. As president and secretary, Ainara Rodriguez Zalakain, councilor of Euskera of the City of Andoain, and Patxi Baztarrika Galparsoro, head of the Basque Service of Andoain.
According to the jury, among other reasons, were the following: “Euskera is a means of communication that looks at science and has made science known in Basque. Halley kite, health and medical issues, mechanical and digital technology, biology... He has dealt with and disseminated these and other issues in Basque."
Juan Ignacio Pérez Iglesias presented the award to director Aitziber Agirre, who thanked him on behalf of the entire team. He also thanked all the people who have supported the magazine year after year and recalled the work done by the magazine: to socialize information on science and technology in order to foster a critical and judgmental view.
