Trees can contribute to environmental conservation. On the island of Sumatra trees called damares have been planted, as it generates a very valuable resin for the industry, and the works done by researcher Hubert de Foresta show that there is a great biodiversity in it.
Between 100 and 150 different varieties of plants grow in the damardia and 250 in the natural jungle of the island. However, today they prefer to change the palm of oil or the archacy, which admit a maximum of ten different species in the area for industrial exploitation, against the damarra.
