The diomedea exulans albatrosa is based on smell to look for prey, according to a study by a group of American and French researchers. Scientists placed GPS receptor albatrosses and a stomach temperature meter to record when food was eaten. The Albatros feed mainly on the massacre that floats in the sea and, according to the researchers, fly against the wind to follow the smell of the massacre until reaching the dam. If they were based on sight, the flight of birds would be much more direct than observed, since it would not depend on the wind that carries the smell of prey.
