Students from different schools in Euskal Herria will have the opportunity to know firsthand what photovoltaic energy is in the coming years. Robotiker and EVE have launched the Solarview project to expand the advantages of solar energy among students.
Some people cover the entire building with solar panels.

In the framework of this project, in the beginning 50 educational centers of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country will install photovoltaic panels with the main objective of explaining its advantages. To do this, a series of exercises and games have been prepared for students to become familiar with this type of energy. Two years ago, the Basque Energy Entity, in collaboration with the Basque Government, launched a campaign for photovoltaic energy: It was intended to install solar panels on the roofs of several schools in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country.

When selecting the centres, it was taken into account whether the centres had the PRIMIA computer network or not. A total of 26 centres from Bizkaia, 16 from Gipuzkoa and 8 from Araba have been selected. The location of solar panels on the roof of each center is currently being studied.

Sensitization process

The process of sensitizing this type of energy will be achieved thanks to the three uses of Solarview. First, students will be able to visualize comprehensively the photovoltaic energy production data collected on the roof of each center.

Secondly, with the data presented in this table, teachers must conduct a series of exercises prepared to fully understand the operation of the new facility.

The use of photovoltaic energy is increasingly common in homes.

Finally, there will be a website for all centers using the Solarview system and for those conducting photovoltaic production studies.

Use and components of Solarview

This system allows to measure the energy and ecological values of each center centrally or locally. Students will be able to know how they use the Sun and how much energy they produce or do not emit CO 2 in their center. In addition, this system allows billing the energy generated and control photovoltaic installations thanks to an independent meter, internet and email.

You also have to take care of the state of the solar panels.

Solarview is a system composed of visualization tables, power meters, communication systems, local access software, remote monitoring and billing software and web applications.

All these resources allow students to know in a simple and enjoyable way the advantages of photovoltaic energy.
