Genome characteristic of the centrosome
For a cell to be copied, it must copy the entire core DNA and physically separate it from a structure called a centrosome. But in the nucleus, in addition to DNA, there is another type of genetic material, RNA. Now, some American biochemists have discovered that this RNA is the natural genome of the centrosome, in short, that those who manipulate genetic information contain their own genetic information.
There has been a big debate about the origin of this RNA, as some believe it is a genetic material introduced by viruses. But in the analyses they have found that no, that RNA has nothing to do with viruses or conventional RNA that participates in the functioning of DNA. On the contrary, the centrosome itself has sequences of synthesis, that is, the centrosome does not need to be copied the main genetic material of the cell.
