Color images with x-rays

Color images with x-rays
01/02/2008 | Elhuyar

A group of British scientists presents the prototype of a new x-ray scanner. So far scanners use single-wavelength x-rays. However, the new prototype uses several wavelengths. Black and white figures were obtained with single-wavelength x-ray instruments. The new tool allows you to obtain color images. Not all the wavelengths of X-rays cross the body's tissues equally, so each body tissue is seen with a color. Therefore, the color that this tissue acquires in the scanner depends on the wavelengths that can pass through a type of tissue.
