According to Russian geologist Sergei Nerutxeu, the capacity of living organisms to accumulate uranium, throughout the history of our planet, caused sudden changes in vegetation and fauna, especially the end of dinosaurs. These unexpected murders of the biosphere occur every 30-40 million years.
This professor explains this hypothesis in the book entitled "Uranium and life in the history of the earth", recently published in Leningrad. It is known that, at least geologically, the sedimentary ropes that converge with a massive disappearance of vegetation and fauna have a high content of uranium.
According to Nerutxeu, it is noteworthy that many organisms of the day accumulate radioactive elements in cells throughout their lives. Some bacteria, such as uranium, absorb almost half of their dry weight.
It is also known that dinosaurs lived in lakes and ponds of little depth. In them the natural concentration of uranium is greater. The organism of these giant reptiles could not in boajasa radioactive intoxication and ended. The study of dinosaur bones has shown high uranium content.
