Universal CDs cannot be copied

The Vivendi Universal label has just taken steps to protect the company's intellectual property: since October it has started manufacturing and selling non-copiable CDs. A special security mechanism has made it impossible for CDs to be copied in MP3 format, that is, they can be heard on the Internet.

So far, this type of security systems have failed due to complaints from several users for the impossibility of reading CDs on computers. The Universal label did not want to detail the security system, but it has exceeded these errors. Those responsible for the label have advanced that from the spring of 2002 all CDs will have protection against the copy.
