GMOs: 110 million euros to calm complaints

Biotech companies Aventis S.A and Avanta USA are willing to pay 110 million euros to farmers who filed a complaint. In 2000, GM maize Starlink, which grew to feed animals, appeared mixed with human consumption corn and US maize producers have claimed compensation to GM seed producers, as the event affected the entire market. A federal judge in Chicago has given his approval prior to the agreement between both parties.
