Kian Januen, president of the Chinese Animal Protection Association, said the Manchuria Tiger in mountains and grasslands has disappeared. No remains of these tigers in northeastern China have been observed in the 1987 aerial observation. In the study conducted in the 1970s only seven were found.
The causes of the disappearance of these tigers have been the deterioration of their natural environment and excessive hunting. Still 20 Stained Tigers inhabit the zoos of China.
