Temperature changes in the precambrian oceans
01/12/2006 | Elhuyar

The study of the sediments submerged in the Precambrian (3,800-570 million years ago) reveals that the temperature of the ocean water changed a lot at that time, from approximately 70 to 20 ° C. This means that in that period there was a rigorous climate change on Earth. For their calculation they have been based on isotopes 18 of oxygen and 30 of silicon of submarine sediments, since there is a relationship between isotopes and temperature. And both have given the same results.
