The mathematician of the UPV, Raúl Ibáñez, will receive the José María Savirón prize for his work of divulgation of mathematics. Ibáñez manages the website Divulgamat (http://www.divulgamat.net) and collaborates in numerous media for mathematical dissemination.

It is not customary to make dissemination among the university faculty. Ibáñez followed this path and has already completed ten years of mathematical disclosure. "We have achieved that universities and administrations recognize the importance of scientific dissemination. Now it's time to recognize our work and that's why the prize is important," says Ibáñez.

The work of these ten years has been of great repercussion. "Experience has shown me that the success of my outreach is based on the fact that the public has an interest in mathematical culture, although the media, administrations, foundations and other institutions may think otherwise."

The José María Savirón Prize was created in 2005 by an association of numerous entities in the field of Spanish science and in this fifth edition have decided to make known the dissemination of mathematics.
