To date, the monoclonal antibody called infliximab has been used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and crohn's disease. However, scientists at the UMDNJ-Rober Wood Johnson School of Medicine in New Jersey (USA) believe that this drug may also be used to treat psoriasis. Psoriasis is a chronic dermatosis, that is, a chronic skin disease. The drugs currently used to cure this disease are not entirely effective or have toxic effects.
