The cost and scarcity of specialized tools for the detection of osteoporosis means that an open campaign for the detection of osteoporosis is currently not carried out. Given this lack, dentists at the University of Manchester School of Dentistry have created a method for detecting osteoporosis. In this method, an X-ray to analyze the condition of teeth and teeth automatically measures the thickness of the jaw. When it is less than three millimeters, it indicates osteoporosis.
