Computer-based body analysis

The system developed by the British company “Axis Software Systems” allows analyzing and storing on a disc the shapes and proportions of the human body through the human body. This system can be used on a PC compatible with graphics card. It has five functions: data collection, model development, model measurement, model manipulation and use as a database.

Data collection is done by projecting lines of light onto the body and taking the image through a video camera in an eccentric position with respect to the light source. The image taken by the camera is treated digitally and the change in the contact of the light lines allows a three-dimensional conformation.

Having an indexed database allows for much faster image analysis.
