Obesity is known to increase the risk of cancer. Now, an article in the journal Nature Immunology explains why. According to him, the key is in NK cells (natural killer or natural killers), which are the immune system cells that detect and kill cancer cells and block excess fat. They have determined that they detect them but do not destroy them.

Researchers have also found a way to rehabilitate blocked NK cells. According to them, this can improve the effectiveness of treatments.
