Nicotine gum and patches are not safe

University of Minnesota researcher Stephen Hech has said that chicles and nicotine patches can cause cancer and are not safe for prolonged use.

Researchers have identified the derivative of nicotine that can cause lung cancer. This is the first time that nicotine and cancer are directly associated, since so far other components of the cigarette were considered dangerous.

However, not all experts agree. In fact, this derivative of nicotine is only generated under certain conditions and, for the moment, all tests have been done in the laboratory. That is, one cannot ensure that the same reaction occurs within the human body.
