The journal Nature has published this week a new explanation on the creation of purple circles in Namibia.
So far, two great theories explained the formation of purple circles that extend throughout Namibia to South Africa. According to the most forceful explanation, termites are guilty. According to the other, competition between plants can be the cause of the appearance and disappearance of these strange circles.
The new theory says that both explanations are not negligible, that is, a combination of both explanations occurs. Through simulations of models they have explained that combinations of competition between colonies of underground insects and competition between plants are produced.
