Hunger in the World examination

At the 1996 World Food Summit, leaders from 186 countries agreed to halve the number of hungry people in the world by 2015. They set a clear goal: that every year there are 20 million fewer hungry people in the world. But still, after 5 years, about 8 million are reduced each year. Therefore, the Panos Institute has just published a report on hunger in the world for all: Can the number of famines be halved? under the name of

PANOS

Panos believes that hunger in the world is not a consequence of food shortages. As the latest data show, food production has grown, but not in hungry countries. According to the report, market liberalization itself increases poverty and prevents sustainable development. They have therefore proposed new ways to end hunger.

But other issues have also been addressed. The limitations imposed by the environment in poor countries, such as land, climate or water scarcity, among other things, on the need to preserve biodiversity, have been discussed. In addition, after a reflection on genetically modified plants, the Panos Institute has analyzed several agricultural farms.
