The smallest electromagnetic motor ever made has a length of 7mm and a diameter of 2mm. Designed by the technical center of the French watch industry, the company MMT has developed this project framed in the field of mechatronic miniaturization (electronic mechanics).

This engine can have many applications in microrobotics, watchmaking, biological engineering, etc. However, the first application will be to guide the catheters within the body organ.

The motor is passing and moving magnet with two pairs of stator/rotor, one outside and one inside.

The turning speed ranges from 5 rpm to 6,000 rpm.
