Amphibious microscope

AFMs, i.e. microscopes that use atomic force, work in the air or in the vacuum, but sometimes the microscope needs to be inserted into the liquid, for example, to study biological samples that die in the air. So far they have solved the problem with a drop of liquid in the sample, but the results were not very good. However, at Hangzhou University in China, an AFM has been developed that can be part of corrosive liquids. Besides giving accurate images, it works very quickly.
