New bladder raised with own cells

Seven children with spina bifida have a new bladder. The bladder, artificially made in the laboratory, has been made with the growth of old bladder cells to facilitate their acceptance.

The transplant was carried out successfully and after several years of follow-up the results have been published in the journal The Lancet.
