Has a cold fusion been achieved in Madrid?

In this issue, in an article on cold fusion, P.M. Etxenike and Toribio Fernández appear quite skeptical about the so-called "cold fusion". However, the June 9 newspapers indicated that a cold fusion had been achieved at the Autonomous University of Madrid.

It is said that there was a large emission of neutrons that caused the expulsion of people from the laboratory to avoid risks. Professor Carlos Sánchez, head of these essays, said that he has achieved a cold fusion and not only now, but also on another 20 previous occasions. As soon as the news became known, several scientists approached the Autonomous University. Most were very optimistic.

However, until Carlos Sánchez and his team evaluate the results obtained, nothing can be assured definitively.
