The current magnetic field of Earth is about 50 microscales, approximately half of it in 3,200 million years. Geologists did not believe that at that time there was such a strong field, but the traces that some geologists of the University of Rochester have found in some minerals created then are the reflection of a powerful magnetic field. This means that about 3 billion years ago the Earth had an iron zone -- origin of the magnetic field- and that the planet was protected from the solar wind -- consequence of the existence of a magnetic field-.
