Manual or machine bleaching of potatoes and fruits can be an outdated system shortly. That is, at least, what awaits in North America a Ohio earthquake.
Potato bleaching machines used in kitchens and industries waste up to 15% of the food by removing the skin. However, Battelle has proposed another system to take advantage of the 15% that is damaged. The laser potato peeler would only remove the fine bark and the rest would remain completely. At the moment, the machine has only one obstacle: its price (which costs about a million dollars).
