01/01/2006 | Elhuyar

Using simulations, American astronomers have ruled out a star-making hypothesis. According to this hypothesis, from small molecules, matter is collected to form the star. But they have discarded it, among other things, because the process is too slow to explain well the formation of stars. According to the approved model, stars come from the compaction of molecular clouds hundreds of times heavier than our Sun.
