In the middle of last May they tested in the port of Hendaia and open sea a new propeller for ships. The propeller tested in the fishing boat "Gure ama Martina" has been the result of the project developed by the Inasmet technology center at the behest of the CADEM. This work is made with new composite materials (composites) that have managed to reduce friction with water. As a result, higher performance is obtained from the work performed by the engine.
Normally the performance of the classic propellers is 50% and the rest is lost by cavitation effect. In addition, reducing friction saves fuel, improves maneuverability and reduces noise and vibration.
