Seal or seal life
So far, many of the ice-covered marine mammal fishing techniques were virtually unknown, as they faenan under ice. Research conducted in the McMurdo Strait of Antarctica, however, provides new information on seal fishing habits. To do this, several seals have been placed on the head and connected to batteries, image recorders and meters placed on the back. Through these gadgets scientists have received information of depth, speed and orientation every second.
Also information on the use of grains and noise of the environment. With this data it has been observed that seals fish between 100 and 350 m deep, although sometimes they have been submerged up to 700 m. In the 75-hour recordings, researchers have studied how fish follow and capture and, among other curiosities, have discovered that small fish come out of the ice cracks by pulling air notes.
