No one is safe from AIDS

Scientists warn about the arrival of AIDS in the most lost areas of the Amazon. Guilty: emerging industry in regions until recently isolated.

Research has been conducted in the Amazon region of Guyana, where AIDS had so far left in peace. 216 men from one camp were tested for AIDS and 14 tested positive. The results were surprised by the researcher, who only expected a couple of contaminated cases.

AIDS is easily extensible through prostitutes and through workers' relationships with Amazon indigenous people. Along this path the virus will reach the sites of Amazonas. Researchers want to test the indigenous and family members of camp workers to see the extent of AIDS.
