NASA has announced its intention to go to the Moon and, on this occasion, stay there. In 2020 it is intended to install a base in which four astronauts will work.
The base location is yet to be determined, but it is believed to be near the lunar south pole, near the Shackleton crater. The advantages of this area are, for example, the continuous impact of sunlight on the area and its proximity to it, with interesting areas of exploration such as the Aitken basin, a spectacular structure created four billion years ago.
The location of the base of the Moon will be decided this year when it is analyzed by an inspection orbiter of the Moon (Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter).
It seems that this question of the base of the Moon is still in the air, without concreting. Consequently, they still do not know how much it will cost, but, however, NASA has begun to ask for the collaboration of other nations and companies.
