It seems that El Niño has gone and before reappearing the time has come to take stock. The United Nations has compiled all conclusions in a report on the main attacks of the Child in 1997 and 1998. 19 months of work in which 16 countries affected by the Child have participated. These countries have made known to United Nations experts the failure to prevent and impact the child in their societies.
Among other things, they have proposed the creation of specific regional entities to analyze the impact of the Child, in order to identify sensitive populations, refine forecasts and form society. Among them is the request for the implementation of fixed ocean buoys in the Indian Ocean. Weather information buoys would be part of the existing Pacific network.
