German physicists make a carbon material even harder than the diamond itself. The hardness of this new material is 491 gigapascal (PG), while the diamond is 442 GP. The secret is in the arrangement of carbon atoms, a new material in which diamond nanobars are interconnected. For the manufacture of this material 60 carbon molecules have been placed at very high pressure and temperature (20 Gpa and 2.500 K).
