Sople to detect diabetes

Sople to detect diabetes
01/05/2007 | Elhuyar

Two researchers at Mississippi State University present a respiratory diabetes screening device. The device measures the amount of respiratory acetone. In fact, when there is diabetes, when blood glucose rises, acetone increases in the lungs, among other compounds, and with this device they want to relate the level of respiratory acetone with blood glucose. In this way, the control of diabetes could be done in a simpler way, without the need to pinch to draw blood.
