After winning Gary Kasparov in chess in 1997, the IBM computer called Deep Blue became famous. This was based on the POWER2 chip, but now IBM launches a sp-based POWER3 microprocessor computer.
This new microprocessor, capable of performing 2 billion operations per second, double the previous one, is aimed at analytical applications and simulation programs commonly used by car manufacturers and aerospace engineers. The SP is a scalable system, composed of blocks that can work individually or by hundreds and that greatly facilitates
data processing.
